Productive Citizens offers members educational opportunities and support, workforce preparation technique training and mental health and substance abuse counseling:
EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AND SUPPORT:
Lack of education is a key factor which leads many ex-offenders to recidivate. Thus, Productive Citizens offers courses for ex-offenders to receive their General Education Diploma (GED) which is the only high school equivalency credential recognized in all fifty (50) states. Additionally, Productive Citizens partners with a variety of vocational schools that members can choose from to learn the skills necessary to enter into and be competitive in a specific industry or job market.
WORKFORCE PREPARATION TECHNIQUE TRAINING:
Once members are equipped with the proper educational necessities, Productive Citizens will provide members with training courses pertinent to Resumè preparation and job interview techniques. We will also guide members in the direction of internships, apprenticeships and/or job openings in their field of interest.
MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELING:
Mental health relates to a person’s emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. Productive Citizens firmly believe that how an ex-offender thinks or feels directly relates to that person’s ability to readjust and thrive in today’s society. Thus, we provide mental health counseling for all our members which includes group and individual sessions, as needed. Further, we provide substance abuse counseling as addiction is a leading factor in recidivism.
